What services does FRESH offer?

FRESH specializes in custom, hand-painted artwork and murals. Every piece we do is designed from scratch to meet your desired color scheme, subject matter, size and style. Most of our murals are painted on canvas in our studio, and then installed in your home like wallpaper. Should you decide to relocate, you can remove the mural from the wall, and reinstall it in your new space.

FRESH also offers faux finishing; custom portraits; business signage; live painting for parties, trade shows or business meetings; painting on furniture, floors, ceilings and even glass and metal; donor walls with painted naming options; memorial art; and restoration work.
Do you offer faux finishing?

Yes, FRESH offers faux finishing, including amazing faux marble, faux bois (wood), faux stone, decorative plasters and decorative painting techniques. Please request to see our sample boards when scheduling your free consultation.
What's the process of getting custom art & murals?

In order to make sure we produce artwork that's just right for you, we offer a free consultation. During your consultation, we'll discuss the area you'd like enhanced, talk about any possible ideas you might have, look around at your decor and the room's style and color palette, and take a few measurements. We'll set up a second consultation to present a free sketch/design of your mural, along with an estimate. At this point, we'll discuss any changes you might have to the design or personalizations you might like to add. Once you've approved a design, we'll get started on your custom work of art.
How much does a custom mural/art cost?

When pricing a mural, we consider the size, the design and level of detail, space complications, material costs, and possible travel or shipping costs. Once this has been provided, we can offer you a free estimate. Generally speaking, an average 10' x 8' wall could cost anywhere from $800 to $3200 or more, depending on the aforementioned variables. If you have a budget in mind, we can design a mural around your predetermined budget.
Do you paint on walls or canvas? And how about other surfaces?

We can paint on just about any surface, including furniture, floors and ceilings. We can also paint on metal and glass. And interior or exterior surfaces.

As for large wall murals, we mostly paint on canvas in our studio. We then deliver it to your home/business, and install it like a giant piece(s) of wallpaper. Since the mural is painted off-site, it's little inconvenience to you. We'll just come by for a few hours to hang the finished canvas. This is great if you're space is under construction, or if you aren't available to be around during the painting process. If you'd like to see the progress of the mural, we'll email you photos to keep you updated. The other advantage to having your mural painted on canvas, is that you can have the mural taken down from the wall should you decide to relocate. Then you can have the mural reinstalled in your new space!

Some murals, on the other hand, are best painted on site. This would be best for some exterior murals, strangely shaped niches or walls, or simple "spot" murals (such as a few flowers or lettering painted throughout a room).
What type of paint do you use?

For most murals, we use a high-quality acrylic paint that's guaranteed to last for many years with out chipping or fading. This paint is very durable and can be washed with soap and water without being removed. If a mural is in a space with extreme temperature or humidity elements (such as kitchens and bathrooms), we recommend adding a clear protective coat as a final step. In some cases, we'll use oil paint or exterior paint. This will depend on the project's needs.
How should I prepare my walls for a mural or faux finish?

In order to ensure a beautiful final work of art, the walls need to be free from holes, dents, dirt or residue. If a mural or faux finish is being painted directly on the wall, the wall should have a clean coat of latex wall paint (the color can be determined before starting). If a canvas mural is to be hung on the wall, the wall must first receive a coat of Pre-Wallcovering Primer (we recommend All Pro Ultra-Prep Premium Acrylic Primer/Sealer). If you would like us to recommend a prep painter, we would be happy to.
Will you travel?

We are happy to travel. FRESH is based out of Los Angeles, CA, Orange County, CA and Chicago, IL. But we will go anywhere you need us to be. In some cases, we'll meet you at your location for an in-person consultation. Otherwise, we can do an on-phone consultation. We'll compile a sketch and estimate, if you can email photos and measurements of your space.

Your artwork can be painted in our studio and then shipped to your location. We'll contact an installer to hang your mural. Otherwise, we'd be happy to paint your mural on site with an added travel cost.
Can you paint any subject and any style?

Yes! FRESH specialized in 100% custom work. We can paint anything you desire - from portraits to animals, landscapes to cityscapes, mythological scenes to religious images. We can also paint in any style - from realism to impressionism, abstract to modern, cubism to trompe l'oeil. If you have a favorite artist or style, we can make sure your artwork resembles your unique taste.
What types of payment do you accept?

We take cash and checks. Once you are happy with your artwork's preliminary sketch/design, we will need a 50% non-refundable deposit to schedule your job. Once your artwork is completed and you're 100% happy, we will collect the remaining 50%.
